when he asked you how long you have been having it did you tell him???? if you have been having it long enough to seek out a doctor then you have probably been having them for a while…….chronic doesn.t necessarily refer to years or anything………..

Chronic means ‘long term’ or 6 months or more. So if you have previously seen him about this pain or told him that you have suffered with it for longer then 6 months, then that is considered chronic pain. They can’t diagnose chronic pain as a condition through touch alone.
If you have only just got this pain AND never had it before, or received treatment then IT IS NOT chronic pain BUT acute.
So then his diagnosis can not be correct.

March 24th, 2009 - 4:43 amI find that pretty weird. If its chronic it usually takes a xray for it has to do with a form of arthritis and also degenerating discs.

Chronic pain lasts longer than the normal pain range after an accident or injury. The usual is more than 3 months. He can diagnose chronic pain just by your medical history and how long you say you have been in pain.
