Well, normal is a good question. Those side effects have been reported so they are not uncommon. About 1% of people complained of back pain, 2% complained of abdominal pain (some can confuse upper GI pain with chest pain so I am including this info here) and less than 1% complained of angina (chest pain). Angina is definitely cause for concern. Not to cause you any panic, but I would contact your doctor first thing and let him know the area, severity and duration of you symptoms (both back and chest)- and don’t let him/her brush you off. There are plenty of other medications available for the treatment of heartburn.
